As a size 14 woman, I find myself caught in that weird in between size abyss. I can wear some clothes from “regular” sized stores, and I can wear plus size as well. It can actually be hard to find a decent variety in size at times….until now. One of my favourite lines, Dex Clothing has added size X to their plus size Spring collection. While I do find a 1X works just fine in certain styles, a size X will allow me to now select pieces that fit me properly when I need to go down a size.
I read a quote one time that said “I wish I was as fat as the first time I thought I was fat.” I chuckled, because it’s true. I remember back in high school having those “I’m fat” moments. In high school I was 5’7 and about 125 pounds and wore a size 6. I’ve had hips since puberty and HATED them! Yesterday, both the twins were having a tough day. They were both needing their mommy at the same time and needed me to hold them while I was warming their bottles. So there I was, in the kitchen, with those hips I used to hate (which are even more substantial now) helping me carry my babies and offering them support and comfort. Size is a perception. When we learn to appreciate (maybe not fully love but get somewhere close to that) those parts of our body we beat ourselves up for, it can be pretty freeing.
