Last night I attended the Eastern Allure portion of the evening which featured five collections.
First up was Clice Lissa Boutique. The collection consisted of floral empire waist dresses, ivory lace detailing, and lots of fur embellishment. Fur was an interesting thing to see in a Spring collection, but it gave the line a real Juicy Couture meets Anthropology like feel.
The second show was not a designer, but a Vancouver based retail chain, Belissima. Being that they are a retail store, they showcased their current season goods. The looks consisted of tweed suiting, ruffles, lace, sateen, faux fur, and lots of coats.
Next up was Fala Chien. Her line was very feminine and pretty. She started with soft draped dresses and rompers. She used vibrant colors and floral chiffons.
The second part of her line was all in neutral tones of black, white, and beige. Each piece was clean and lady like.
She ended the collection with a sheer black evening gown, with side cutout detail and silver lurex threading.
My favorite show of the night was Eva Chen’s collection. It’s everything you want to see at a fashion show. She had a series of gorgeous gowns and cocktail dresses. Soft chiffon ombre dresses with feather embellishment, feathered hats, and a neutral palette of black, white, grey, and soft peach. The black feathered gowns reminded me of the long black bridesmaid dress Charlotte wears in the first Sex and the City movie. They appropriately named the dress “Black Swan”.
Her show stopping gowns were her bridal dresses she ended the show with. She used beautiful rosette detailing with tulle and again, feathers.
Our evening ended with Vancouver boutique The TRUE’S Fashion Couture collection. Fur was seen, throughout the looks, in many different forms. There were fur leg warmers, vests, collars, purses, boots, hats, and coats. The fur was paired with summery florals and bright hues like fuchsia and kelly green, leopard prints, Pucci inspired prints, cardis, and prairie dresses.
