NKOTBSB Concert Giveaway

When it comes to the era of boy bands, there were no others like New Kids on the Block and the Back Street Boys.  I’ve been lucky enough to see both of these groups in concert before, and as fate would have it, I get to see them both again.  On July 10th these two iconic boy bands will be rockin out at Rogers Arena.  Wanna go?

One of my best memories is of my sister and I putting on an amazing;-) dance and lip sync performance for our parents to Step by Step.  Yes, I was probably too old to be doing this and yes I loooovvvveeeddd these guys and for nostalgic reasons, still do.

I’m giving away two lower bowl tickets for you to go see NKOTBSB at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on July 10th.

There are 3 ways you can enter.

lol this will sound funny but my sis and cousins and myself would dance around to my NKOTB tapes at our family parties when we were kids, then when we were tweens we made a home video re-creating BSB’s backstreets back video lol, I was Nick Carter, he was my fave hahaha

My best friend and I used to sing and dance along to NKOTB when we were tweens – Joey was my favorite and she loved Jordan. Then when I got a little older, BSB came out and my whole family got into it. My mom, 2 younger sisters and I would sing along to all the BSB songs and we all had our favorites!

In Grade 6, my entire class attended the show in Calgary as a field trip! It was such a fun experience and every time I hear them on the radio that nostalgia makes me smile!

My very first concert was NKOTB!! I was in Grade 5 or 6 and went with this girl in my class and both our moms. I remember us screaming at the top of our lungs and our moms sat there laughing at us. My favourite song is “Please Don’t Go Girl” but pre-Joe-puberty version 🙂 I loved Joe and his cut-out hat so much, I had t-shirts and buttons of him! Wow, that just totally aged me …

My favourite memory is trying to figure out the lyrics to The Right Stuff. A friend played the Weird Al Yankovic parody and for a while I kept confusing the lyrics.

Wow, there are so many memories with these two bands…
NKOTB – I was obsessed with these guys when I was a kid. I had their vhs videos, pictures all over my walls and their DOLLS! I went to their recent concert a couple of years ago and it was like coming home.
BSB – my mom and aunt took me and three other obsessed gfs to wait outside Cheers (the nightclub!) just to see them enter because we didn’t get to go to their concert. I cried on my way home because I saw a glimpse of Brian. LOL.

I have been through both NKOTB and BSB fan girl stages. When I was in high school me and my two girlfriends would constantly argue over which NKOTB was the the best…one liked Jordan, one liked Jon and I loooooved Donnie and his bad boy ways. I even have signatures in my high school year book saying “Jordan is the best” and underneath “No Jon is the best.” It really was Donnie though. I would record every appearance on TV…unfortunately I lived in small town NB and they never came this way. When I was in my twenties I was in love with BSB….AJ in particular…oooo boy…well, I bought tickets from a scalper and paid $450 for the ticket….I needed to have a reason to have bought the tickets and someone to go with so I took my 13 year old niece with me as an excuse…let me just say I was the one rocking out and singing at the top of my lungs…I think she wanted to crawl under her seat and hide, but it was a truly amazing experience. Now that they are performing together it is totally unbelievable and I am more than excited for it….***fan girl screaming.***

I was just a little too old for it to be cool to like New Kids on the Block when they were big the first time. But I always hit the dance floor when Step by Step was playing.

And BSB were hitting their strid at the same time many of my friends started getting married. Their songs are like a wedding DJs dream and they always bring back great memories for me. Usually of drunk white boys dancing!
