The Opening Gala of VFW2011

Last night I attended the Opening Gala for Vancouver Fashion Week.  It was held at the Sutton Place Hotel where fashion goers enjoyed cocktails, orderves, and a preview of the fashion for the upcoming week.

Ribbons were cut, speeches were made, and models strutted their stuff.  VFW focuses on local and international designers giving us a real mix of fashions to view.  I always love nights like this for the people watching.  You see it all at these events….great fashion, out there

fashion, and questionable fashion.

The designers selected some of their most show stopping pieces to work the room.  Here is what we can look forward to with the fashion shows to come….

I loved this dress.  Watch it go from a beautiful black and white gown….

…to a black swan enspired dress….

…to a stunning white swan bridal gown.

Be sure to check back daily for new posts on all the runway goings on from Vancouver Fashion Week.

Great coverage! I am a Branding and Marketing Specialist that represents designers. I’m also originally a Prairie girl, now living in Vancouver. We should definitely meet up! I’m also putting on a seminar with VFW on Saturday, April 16th at 2pm if you are interested – http://vanfashionweek.com/blog/2011/04/the-business-of-fashion-seminar-at-vfw/.
