Fashion Friday…Get a Grip

I’m sure you’ve all noticed that is has been Spring for a few weeks now, but the weather is just not cooperating.  Even though there is still a chill in the air, this does not make down filled winter parkas acceptable for this time of year.  I have been amazed at the amount of women I see in the morning on their way to work wearing a pretty Spring outfit with a giant parka over top.  Ladies….it don’t look good.   When fashion crimes such as these are committed, I have to speak out.

There are plenty of ways to look chic and season appropriate and still be warm and cozy.  For outerwear try a trench.  Weather short or long this fashion staple is always in style and will keep you warm and dry.  This is a heads up for the lady I saw earlier this week in the bulkiest white coat I’ve ever seen.  And no, it didn’t work with your pink floral dress and strappy shoes.  Get a grip!

Not ready to bare your legs?  I love ankle length straight legged pants and jeans.  Warm and chic and look great with ballet flats.  Very Audrey Hepburn.  You can also start thinking sunless tanner.  This way when your legs are out for all to see, your legs will have the head start.  I personally love Jergens!  No orange or streaky color.

Scarves are a great addition to any outfit.  Just no woolly scarves….think silk scarves in pretty prints.

Cardigans are a girl’s best friend.  I’ve been wearing on almost everyday.  Layer them with cute printed tops underneath (try a pretty floral).  I feel put together and very Springy without freezing.

Your cardi can be cropped or extra long.  It’s cute way to add a layer on the chilly days.

Throw one over a dress, tank, or anything else you like!

So ladies, it’s time to ditch your heavy black boots, down filled parkas, and anything that has fur trim on it.  Embrace the new season.  It’s a great excuse to go shopping;-)
