Beauty on Vacation

 

It can be a real shock to the system to go from your winter beauty hibernation to full on summer skin exposure.  No, I’m not complaining that I get to enjoy a tropical winter vacation in Maui, but the thought of my body being unwrapped from it’s many layers of warmth and concealment is slightly worrisome.  With this in mind, this week I’ve been in full prep mode.  Here’s my before leaving beauty checklist:

1) Apply sunless tanner daily ( I use Lancome’s Flash Bronzer and Jergens Natual Glow)  2) Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize (This is a regular routine for me anyway, but I have kicked it up a notch.  I like Lancome’s Nutrix Royal Body.  At night I use Estee Lauder‘s Eye Night Serum (c/o)…a must!)  3) Pretty nails are an easy way to Summerize your look.  (I’m loving the new Spring hues from Joe Fresh! c/o)  4) Daily exfoliation is a great way to help give your skin a glow.  ( I use Dermalogica‘s Daily Microfoliant for my face.  5) Getting my feet sandal ready is always a bit of a chore.  To make sure they are soft and smooth, I have been using the Emjoi Micro-Pedi (c/o).  It’s a battery operated device that gently buffs away dry, hard skin from your tootsies.  It works really well.

Products I’ll be bringing with me include….Body Shop grapefruit body butter,(c/o) Joe Fresh polish (for touch ups), (c/o) Cherlyn Skincare products (I’m really in love with this line.  I’ve been trying out the product for a while now & I’m loving my soft skin and it’s fresh scent.  They use 100% natural ingredients and their products are designed to nourish the skin, promote healing, and provide a revitalizing lift for all skin types.),  Batiste dry shampoo (This stuff is amazing! I like the tropical scent for hot weather destinations),  (c/o) Avene Thermal Spring Water spritz, Dermalogica tinted moisturizer (with SPF), NYX waterproof mascara, (c/o) Joe Fresh “Just Peachy” eye & lip palette, (c/o) Lush Skin Tint (It gives your skin a warm glow).

Before packing my bags I like to come up with a plan so I don’t pack un-needed clothes and products.  I suggest trying out a summer inspired look at home so you’re not packing your oxblood lipstick and winter hued shadows.
