Jennifer Pistor has always possessed a passion for fashion. After growing up in the Prairies, Jennifer decided to take a Fashion Merchandising program in Vancouver BC and once moving to the ‘big city’, she never looked back. Now some years later, she’s dabbled in all parts of the fashion industry including modelling, fashion shows, retail, buying, designing and much more. In 140 characters or less, tell us what your blog/website is about:
I’m about fashion, style, & shopping. I hope to inspire other like minded gals to love who they are and shop for all things lovely.
Give us a 6-word summary of yourself.
Warm, loving, goofy, nerdy, gregarious, loyal.
What is your favourite article/post/video/image that you’ve posted and why?
That would have to be the post about my wedding. It was such an amazing day and I loved being able to share just a little of it with my readers.
Tell us, if blogging is not your full-time venture, what do you do for work?
I had been working as a General Manager and Assistant Buyer of a small women’s retail company up until September 2012. Since then I have been embracing doing all the things I didn’t have time to do before while taking on new ventures and of course blogging.
Fill in the blank: I can’t leave my house without my _________?
Lipgloss!
Tell us some of your favourite trends that are hot right now.
Designers like Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors are showing bold stipes for Spring ’13. Stripes always have a place in my wardrobe. Its a fun and easy way to incorporate a bit of pattern to my closet. I’m also loving all the leather we’ve been seeing and mod black and white looks.
What are your top 3 favourite things to do in the city you live in?
Vancouver is such a beautiful city. A perfect day for me would be hanging out with my husband at some of our favorite spots. We’d go to Granville Island for brunch and walk by the water. Then we’d head to one of my fave shopping streets like West 4th Ave for a coffee and some boutique shopping. Lastly we’d head downtown for some yummy Italian food for dinner at The Italian Kitchen.
What mantra or quotation do you live by?
Find the beauty in the little things.
What do you skimp on?
Statement jewelry
What do you splurge on?
Jeans
What blogs/websites are you currently obsessed with?
Cupcakes and Cashmere, Nadiaa Boulhosn, and Karla’s Closet
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Still working in fashion, a mom, traveling to Italy with my family, content, and happy.
What would you say to the younger version of yourself?
Don’t stress about the small things. They may seem big now, but trust me, you have an amazing life with the best family and friends. Also, wear mini skirts now while you can.
Do you have any other advice that you would give to new bloggers?
Don’t get caught up in what everyone else is doing. It’s easy to get in to a high school mentality trying to keep up with what the popular girls are doing. Don’t be jealous, be genuine. Blogging about what you know and love is the best way to gain a loyal following.
