I AM A SLOW FASHION BLOGGER, STYLIST, AND CURATOR OF THIS SITE.

After watching a life changing documentary about the true cost of fashion, I slowly quit fast fashion and began reworking my relationship with clothing. As someone who dedicates a lot of my time to learning about my individual impact as well as how I can change my mindset around an industry I have worked in for 32 years, I want to share what I learn with you. If you are interested in curating a more sustainable wardrobe and are looking for simple, tangible ways to start, click here to read more about what this blog and I am all about.

I’ve shared this quote of mine before, but the w I’ve shared this quote of mine before, but the words felt right again. Our world has become a place of daily tragedy. Shootings, violence, gangs, war, war refugees, climate refugees, climate crisis, global disease, social injustice, laws that do anything but protect people. Plus People of Colour under attack. LGBTQ People under attack. Books under attack. People at grocery stores and Children at school under attack. Plus we’re dealing with a housing crisis, baby formula shortages, doctor shortages, inflation, and honestly, this list could go on forever.
🌱
And here’s me, on my little corner of the internet talking about fashion. Sharing outfits and speaking about the true cost of the fashion industry. This is what I can do. This is what I have the capacity for here online. This is my contribution. Behind the scenes, like most people, I’m shedding tears about the state of our world. I’m navigating raising a family and doing my best to protect, nurture, and educate my children. Im reading, advocating, and learning how I can do better. I’m also working every day to seek out joy. We need that joy too.
🌱
We simply cannot publicly share everything we are feeling about every tragedy happening in our world, because the despair is bottomless. Yes, it’s important to speak up. Yes we need to keep fighting for the good and change we want to see. That work isn’t always fought here in these squares. It’s done by voting, by educating ourselves, by signing petitions, writing officials, and by donating to causes we believe in.
🌱
For all of you with a heavy heart (and I dare say that’s most of us), don’t forget to breathe. Don’t forget to laugh, put on a fancy dress and twirl, play tea party with your kids, snuggle with your partner on the couch, go for a walk, call your Mom, make plans with friends, and be silly. We are all slogging through the hard stuff. Let’s remember that love and joy need to be daily practices too♥️
Shop my closet! It’s long overdue, but I have fi Shop my closet! It’s long overdue, but I have finally listed a whole bunch of goodies for sale over on my other page @jenpistorcloset. There’s so much to choose from, including swimwear, shoes, bags, dresses, sweaters, skirts, and lots of cute tops. The size range is about 10-18. I’ve included some lovely sustainable brand items too. Secondhand can be a great way to try out a brand at a lower price point.

Happy Mother’s Day 💐 I had a lovely low key d Happy Mother’s Day 💐 I had a lovely low key day with a movie morning + coffee, a walk after lunch, some amazing handmade goodies from my Little Loves, flowers, 🍩 + 🍰, dinner outside, and so many snuggles and cuddles. Feeling all the love today! {And to make sure I keep it real, yes an entire coffee was knocked over by a kid and spilled all over the living room. Yes, a kid had soccer and I was up in the morning like usual. No days are perfect, despite what these squares might show you. It’s all beautiful chaos.🧡)

As I’ve been organizing and switching out a bit As I’ve been organizing and switching out a bit more of my closet from Winter to Spring, I keep getting slapped in the face with my clothing abundance. This leads me to feeling guilt and overwhelm followed by some shame and anxiety. Anyone else get these feelings when going through their closets?
🌱
Here’s the thing I’ve come to realize. Life has changed a lot over the past few years for me and definitely over this past decade. I went from a no kids, work wardrobe to a part time work + stay at home mom wardrobe, to a never leave the house wardrobe, to a my body has changed, I’m in my 40’s, what is daily life anymore wardrobe. Let’s just look at the past three years. Pre-P, I was a stay at home mom + a model, attending photoshoots and media events. I was quite social, I went on dates with my husband, and trips and adventures with my family. I purchased very little clothing that year. Very little. Then 2020 hit, and I wanted all the comfy things I could get. I wanted to feel good and be cozy. I shopped. Mostly secondhand, but I shopped. Then 2021 brought on more of the same but my body wasn’t the same. Clothes weren’t fitting. I was stressed, sad, and uncomfortable. I shopped. Then 2022 came along and there was a bit more hope given that this would be the year we could emerge from our homes more. So, revisiting clothes from 2019 with a new body to dress, some pieces weren’t working anymore. So I shopped.
🌱
I never want to appear like I’m navigating slow fashion perfectly. I’ve changed many of my ways and have grown tremendously in my consumerist behavior, but I still have work to do. I’m not going to bombard myself with guilt. It is what it is. Although I shopped, each item was still purchased with mindfulness (mostly). I’m wearing the items I have more and slowly and mindfully editing things out. If you’re feeling some closet guilt today, try to show yourself some grace. We can keeping working on doing better together.

I’ve launched a Patreon page! This is something I’ve launched a Patreon page! This is something I’ve been wanting to do for over a year now. It took me this long to go for it because I was nervous to give it a go. As I get older, I find it harder to take the plunge into new things. I get too in my head about it, but I’m working on it. So, here I am today, launching my Patreon page.
🌱
I love creating slow fashion content! I enjoy the writing, the styling, and even the researching. While I do take on some paid collaborations + freelance writing, the majority of my content is unpaid. To help keep the work I love going, I’m introducing the Patreon subscription option.
🌱
There are two tiers to choose from. One for around the price of an oat milk latte and the other for a latte + croissant. I will have some bonus content for my Patreon Subscribers + a monthly Newsletter for my Tier 2 Insiders Club. If you find value from my work on the blog and here on Instagram, and it’s within your budget, please consider contributing to keep my work going. If this is not within your budget right now, you can still support my work through likes, comments, and shares.
🌱
The link to my Patreon page is in my bio + it’s in my ABOUT page on my blog.
Thank you 🧡

Have you heard of Kantamanto Market? I have a new Have you heard of Kantamanto Market? I have a new blog post up talking about Kantamanto, which is the biggest secondhand market in the world. I am sharing the reality of our donated goods, how our obsession with abundance is killing the planet, and how we can all help to do better.
🌱
There is a lot to unpack and it’s more than I could cover in a single post. Be sure to check out the resources I list at the bottom of my article for a further deep dive into this enormous subject.

These three are home for the next five days. Easte These three are home for the next five days. Easter break! Our weather has been a roller coaster this past week. We’ve gone from rain to hot and sunny at 22 degrees to snow, hail, thunder, and temps going way back down to just a couple degrees. I’m hoping we can carve out some more little moments like last night. Cherry blossoms and visiting the ducks in the pond was a happy way to end the day.
🌱
Hope you all get to find some little moments like these over the long weekend.
