There is some huge #LocalLove happening here in this look. Absolutely everything I am wearing is either from a local boutique or a local designer/brand. It wasn’t intentional, but when I started listing my outfit details I was pleased to see all the items I found that have supported local business. This fabulous white lace dress with a floral print is one of my newest additions to my wardrobe. While it is still a bit chilly to go full on Spring just quite yet, I couldn’t help but snap and share of few pics because it’s just so pretty.
I am also channeling my inner Dakota Johnson this week with my Oscar inspired hair style…a ponytail. I LOVE fashion, but sometimes the fashion “experts” are hilarious with the ridiculous obsessions they have. Like many of you, I watched all the red carpet coverage from the Oscars. I watched the before, the after, and everything in between. One thing that was amazing was the ongoing commentary over Dakota Johnson’s ponytail. Now granted, usually a more glam hair style is chosen for such a formal fete, however, you would think this girl invented the ponytail with they way these fashion critics went on about it. To paraphrase a few of my favorite comments….
” Dakota Johnson’s ponytail is anything but basic.” It was pretty basic to me.
” I love her daring choice to wear a ponytail.” Daring is a low cut dress after 50, a ponytail on a 25 year old starlet is well a ponytail!
” It’s so unexpected and not at all boring.” I guess it is unexpected, but can’t say I leapt out of my chair when I saw her hair.
” Dakota’s hair is just brilliant.” Brilliant? I guess I’m chic-er than I thought when I head to the grocery store.
” Ugh! How much are we loving the ponytail on Dakota Johnson?” Clearly you are all loving it ALOT!
Maybe it’s because my hair style is pretty much the exact same as hers or that I’ve just worn a lot of ponytails over the years, but hearing this uber simple hair style was the top pick seems ridiculous…but I still love it!
