Someone’s teeny hand photobombed my pic.  I guess she should be in an upcoming post soon.

The temperature is dropping, the leaves are turning colour, and everything is pumpkin flavoured…cue the fall uniform.  The great closet purge of 2015 continues.  As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’ve been bringing a lot less into my closet then I’ve been getting rid of.  The new pieces that are joining my wardrobe are easy, classic items.  This outfit is a good representation of what I’ve been shopping for.  Love me some black!  It’s a classic hue for a reason.  Just bought this sweater yesterday from Loft.  I grabbed three great knit tops from them and all on sale.  Having a go to uniform can save you time when getting ready in the morning and make life a little simpler.

Tip: ALWAYS check the washing label.  It sucks when that sweater you had planned on wearing a few times a week is a hand wash or dry-clean only.

September has launched me into a very full season of work, new projects, events, family events {my husband, daughter, and my birthday are all in Oct. & Nov. + our Anniversay}, and even a family vacation in October to Palm Springs for a friends wedding.  I’m trying to cut back on the usual events I would attend this time of year, as I also have my most important role as Mom to fulfill.  We’ve been busy working on potty training the Little Miss.  We had a successful day yesterday…I will spare you the details.  We’ve also been going through a weird sleep regression with Maddie lately.  There have been a lot of interrupted sleeps over the last few weeks.  Even though it’s easier said then done, I’ve been repeating the same two pieces of advice to myself over and over….

1) Try to be organized to make life simpler.

2) When things aren’t organized, take a deep breath and let it go.

I love a clean house, a stocked fridge, empty laundry baskets, and everything in it’s place.  Lately, this has not been my reality.  Every day I just do my best and remember that I’m not the only Mom out there who struggles “get everything done”.  You just have to do your best and keep things simple so you can still enjoy the little things.  I’m always open to suggestions, so Moms, if you have tips on how you keep your household clean and organized, I’d love to hear them!
