I have been asked so many times how I manage to keep my blog going while being a mom of three little ones. My blog involves a lot of time on my part. Time for taking pictures, time to conceptualize the posts, time to style the looks, time to write, time to edit, and then time on social media to connect with my readers and promote my posts. It is a labour of love for sure. Having a creative outlet is therapeutic and having a little platform to write about what is important to me like self love, body diversity, motherhood highs and lows, and style inspiration for the every woman is kind of a dream come true.
So here is a perfect example of how it doesn’t always go as planned. I had planned to snap pics of this outfit (and adorable new Dex top from Mossy Creek & Co) while the babies has their afternoon nap. Great plan, except that they decided to not nap. On top of that, Sabrina would not let me put her down. She wouldn’t let her sisters play with her and Dad was not an acceptable alternative. It had to be mom. The little freak out of hers happened just as I was 100% ready to go and take the pictures. I tried to set up a play area outside for them right where we were shooting , but all she did was scream for me and want to be picked up.
Being a mom is my full time gig, and obvious priority. Blogging is my side hustle and passion project. So, here I am having my worlds collide. It was a total shit show to say the least, but somehow I still really love how these pictures turned out. I think, what I love is that they represent me. A real mom, doing real day to day things, but also loves having a little something all mine on the side. Real life can be stressful at times, but also, it can create a beautiful, memorable moment.
