The One Top We All Need

Supporting small/local makers and businesses is something I’ve been passionate about since first moving out to Vancouver in 2001.  When Jessica from East of Embers reached out to me and introduced herself and her label with me, I instantly knew this was a shop to get excited about.  Her beautiful assortment of ethically, handmade items, are not only pretty, but also items you can feel good wearing knowing you are supporting fair labour.

Ok, so why have I dubbed this as the one top we all need?  It checks off so many of the boxes for me.

  • flattering silhouette
  • great length
  • the perfect sleeve
  • comfortable to wear
  • it is available in multiple different colours
  • the perfect amount of femininity without being too cutesy or girly
  • it’s a more dressed up/polished t-shirt (I think this top would also be so cute styled with a slim legged black pant and killer pair of heels.)

I have been slowly piecing my Spring/Summer wardrobe together bit by bit.  Moving slower when it comes to fashion has actually been a really fun journey so far.  At first it felt a bit overwhelming, but as time goes on, I learn more and do better.  Yes, there are moments where an impulse gets the better of me, but I making much better decisions all the time, including just not buying sometimes.  I’m loving how it’s all coming together.
