On Saturday, Vancouver’s Glitterati and style lovers took over the Hastings Race Track for a day of glamour, music, cocktails, and betting.  Weather you were nibbling on the lobster lunch, sipping champagne in the VIP tents, or down at the fences cheering on your pony, you were undoubtedly having an amazing time.

Derby goers really got into the spirit of the event with bow ties, enormous hats, suspenders, and facinators as far as the eye could see.  Jazz bands played while bartenders showed off their skills in a bourbon cocktail competition in a skybox patio.  The whole day was first class.  After all, afternoon drinking is so much more acceptable if you’re dressed like a lady.

I didn’t come home any richer, but I am looking forward to another day of glam again next year.
