Happy Halloween everyone! We are in the full spirit of things today with costumes, parties, decorations, jack-o-lanterns, and of course, the all important trick-or-treating later tonight. No themes for us this year. Madelyn had her heart set on being Wonder Woman, which I love that she chose this all on her own. (See what she wore last year here.) Sabrina is wearing Maddie’s bumble bee costume from her first Halloween, and we bought Lily this adorable Lamb costume. I’ve been singing “Lily had a little lamb” for about a week now!
I adore Halloween now that I’m a mom. I love getting my kids dressed up, hearing the doorbell ding dong, handing out candy, and seeing all the excitement for one fun night. We live in an awesome family oriented neighbourhood that reminds me a lot of the towns I grew up in. Our street comes alive on Halloween. There are hundreds of kids (we usually get 200-300 trick-or-treaters) and there is this amazing buzz between all the neighbours. Remo and I especially love going to the house at the end of the block that offers up some “adult” treats for the parents. A shot of Bailey’s to keep us “warm” while we’re out. Best house ever! Such a good idea.
I hope you all have a fun filled evening of games, treats, and not too many tricks. Soak in the sunshine while you can today too! It sounds like our weather here in Vancouver is about to take a turn.
