Spring Wardrobe

spring outfit

My fabulous friend, and fellow blogger, Alicia recently wrote an article about Navigating A Personal Style Crisis.  It totally spoke to me.  (Give it a read, I guarantee you’ll identify with it.)  The biggest thing I got out of her piece was realizing that I am guilty of hanging on to pieces that the “old Jen” would have worn.  Sure I’ve purged my closet a ton, but there are still some sartorial ghosts in there.  The old Jen had a job working in the fashion industry.  I attending stylish events, met up with the girls for drinks after work, and went out for dinner with my husband on a Friday night.

The current Jen requires a much more laid back style.  Most of my days are yoga pants and sweatshirts.  I’m crawling on the ground tickle attacking my three littles, I’m cooking and cleaning, and can usually be found with a GoldFish Cracker stuck to me. As life changes, so must our wardrobes.  I love my life and embrace it, so I want to do the same with my wardrobe and get rid of the things that no longer serve me.   I finally decided I had too many dresses that were just collecting dust.  A handful of them found a new home in a friend’s closet.  I’m always happy when someone can fall in love with items I love too.   I’m working on making my wardrobe wearable and realistic. On the day’s I get dressed up…so not yoga pants…I’m usually grabbing a pair of jeans and a blouse.  This is my perfect go-to Spring outfit.  Embracing where you are in life TODAY and shopping and dressing for it will make your life simpler.  Closet goals….love everything in there and wear it!
