So here I am in a culotte. This is a fashion item that I have worn before…ahem, back in the 90’s. Yup, totally showing my age. But when I saw these beauties hanging on the rack in the store over the weekend, I had to try them on. Maybe it was the hot weather talking, but a flowy legged pant felt great on and so they came home with me. I’m looking forward to playing around with different ways to style them. A perfect new edition to my Summer wardrobe.
I’ve been trying to up my style game a bit. I miss getting dressed and slipping on an outfit that gives me loads of confidence. Taking the steps of purging ill fitting clothes and editing down to pieces I love has definitely helped. I have even been replacing some of my casual at home wear pieces. Fit and proportion really are everything. I am so guilty of gravitating toward oversized pieces. There is a big difference between a loose fit and drowning in something. I’ve been saying bye bye to all those shapeless, comfort pieces in my closet…well, most of them.
It feels good to take the plunge and buy a “riskier” piece. I used to be a huge sartorial risk taker in my younger, slimmer years. I think at 38 years old and a size 14 I can still have some fun. I just have to go for it!
