As much as I have been trying to ignore the obvious shift in temperature, I am finally starting to embrace the inevitable. Fall. Buuuuut, I’m not ready to give up all my Summer pieces just yet. I recently purchased this beautiful floral print dress from fave online boutique, Fox + Wit. I had had my eye on it for a while, so when it went on sale I took it as a sign to buy! When it arrived I really couldn’t wait until next Spring to wear it, so I figured, why wait? It is still technically Summer and florals are a big trend for Fall, so voila! On it went.
Being that this dress has an all over dark navy background to the florals, it makes it a perfect transition piece. White would have screamed Summer, but the darker hues lend it to layers. Putting this outfit together was a breeze as these other items are closet staples (and favourites) for me. Mixing in some different textures like this old leather jacket of mine and this great wool hat give interest. My recycled leather Erin Templeton cross body bag and caramel coloured ankle boots add warmth to the look. For just a little something extra, I added on my locally made fresh water pearl + buddha pendant necklace. I love adding little personal touches to an outfit like this. It makes the look my own.
